What a Difference A Score Makes: Music from Shakespeare Films
Dr. Rachel Franklin, acclaimed concert pianist, will perform musical scores from well-known Shakespeare themed movies. The scores she shares will be as diverse as the movies themselves, including classical, jazz, psychedelic, ethnic, and rock and roll music. She will illustrate the ways in which the music drives those movies, whether comedy, tragedy or drama, and explain the music's role in helping us comprehend Shakespeare's ornate language and passion. Join St. John's College's Mitchell Gallery, Dr. Franklin, and Caritas Society as we celebrate the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare's legacy. Before the show, savor wine and appetizers while enjoying a private showing of First Folio! The Book That Gave Us Shakespeare at the Mitchell Gallery.
Caritas Society of St. John's College Inc. is a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to enhancing St. John's relationship with the community and providing financial assistance to needy St. John's students.
