A Gathering of Fiddlers and Fishermen #18 with MC Mike Laureanno
Mike Laureanno hails from Fall River, MA. He is a 2016 Kerrville New Folk Finalist and a 2016 Woody Guthrie songwriting contest winner.

A passionate performer, Mike's songs are visceral and evocative. He's able to pull off a stinging political song and then follow it with a belly laugh tune or a ballad that will make you cry. Adept at guitar, piano, bass and harmonica, Mike's musicianship is as strong as his songwriting.
Dave Palmater, Folk-DJ of WUMB Boston Public Radio, calls Mike Laureanno "Fall River's poet laureate." A high honor for a kid from the south end of the city. Mike is proud of his roots and many of his songs deal with his gritty blue collar hometown and the lives of his family and friends. His two beautiful tribute songs: "Let Go" for his mentor Jack Hardy and "Troy" for his dear friend from the old hood, Michael Troy, demonstrate his ability to be poetic without being sentimental.
Mike has released two albums to date, Pushing Back Wintertime and Road Signs.
He plans to release his third album in early 2017.
Gentleman Jack Wright, Irish tunesmith and multi-instrumentalist will again host the pre-show Seisin.
