"Waking Dreams" - written and performed by Lauren Davenport 200 years ago in the summer of 1816, Mary Shelley wrote what would become the first fragment of her infamous novel, Frankenstein; The Waking Dream, as part of a ghost story contest among colleagues. Waking Dreams is a glimpse into the creative struggles behind Marys writing process, her literary standing as the progeny of two great writers, and her tenuous social standing as the then mistress of the English poet, Percy Bysshe Shelley.
"Ben's Key" written by Kenneth N. Kurts and performed by Lisa Panzer and Barry Polis It's a blustering stormy day when a man by the name of Ben, dressed in colonial era clothing, 'pops' into a Philadelphia neighborhood tavern called "Ben's Key". The tavern is named after a tattered kite anchored by a brass skeleton key, which the proprietor claims belonged to Benjamin Franklin. Sally, the bartender, thinks Ben is one of the many "Franklin" actors about town, come in out of the rain for a drink. As the thunderous storm outside strikes and the power goes out, Sally finds that there may be more brewing about Ben than meets the eye!
