Bombitty of Errors
The Adobe Rose Theatre and Suits & Frogs Productions brings rap & Shakespeare together for a very special Hamiltonesque evening of theatre! In a limited 4 performance engagement, the Rose presents The Bomb itty of Errors, by Jordan Allen-Dutton, Jason Catalano, GQ, and Erik Weiner. Inspired by Shakespeares Comedy of Errors, The Bomb-itty of Errors converts Shakespeares farcical tale of mistaken identity and two sets of lost identical twins, separated at birth, who meet again with hilarious results, into a 90-minute show that is part play and part rap concert. Four actors portray both sets of twins, their friends, relatives, wives, lovers and other characters with a few wigs, dresses and bare chests; a minimum of set pieces; and a tremendous amount of talent and energy. First performed in December 1999, the show has played all over the English speaking world, including New York, London, Chicago, Dublin, Edinburgh, Vancouver, Philadelphia, Victoria BC and Los Angeles. Bomb-itty was nominated for a Drama Desk award and for Outer Critics Circle Awards. It received the Jefferson Award in Chicago and the Grand Jury Prize at the HBO US Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen, CO. The press has consistently raved about the hip hop comedy:
