Orchestra Miami's Family Fun Series
Introduce your kids to the arts with Orchestra Miami's Family Fun Series at Pinecrest Gardens! These five, family-friendly concerts are designed to introduce kids to the arts through music. All concerts start at 8 PM and last approximately 1 hour. Cookies and Juice serves after each concert- Five Friday nights of Family Fun beginning in November!
Fri, Nov. 4, 2016-Program I: Tyrannosaurus Sue, A Cretaceous Concerto by Bruce Adolphe. Performed by the Chamber Ensemble of Orchestra Miami conducted by Elaine Rinaldi and presented with accompanying visual display.
Fri, Jan. 6, 2017- Program II: Visions of America- Listen and learn how different composers interpret the American landscape though music. Orchestra Miami performs alongside selected students from the Greater Miami Youth Symphony, conducted by Elaine Rinaldi.
Fri- Feb. 3, 2017- Program III: Zephyronia- Meet the members of the wind section of Orchestra Miami in Bruce Adolphes witty piece, which teaches kids about energy conservation and alternative energy sources.
Fri- Mar. 3, 2017- Program IV: Little Red Riding Hood, an opera by Seymour Barab. This classic fairy tale, performed by three professional opera singers and members of Orchestra Miami, teaches kids about one of the most basic rules of reason- don't talk to strangers!
Fri- Mar. 31, 2017- Program V: Matthew Sabatella and the Rambling String Band- Introduce kids to Americas original string music with Matthew Sabatella and the Rambling String Band! A popular favorite, your kids will have a rollicking, foot-stomping good old time!
