Healthy Cooking Foundation Class - Cooking with Wholesome Sweeteners - Holiday Baking Edition
Master the basics of whole-food, organic cooking while learning new culinary techniques and styles. In this class, we will explore how to cook with healthy, wholesome sweeteners. You will be given information about what makes a healthy sweetener, the various types available, their nutritional value, how to shop for them, and how to properly substitute them in recipes. We will discuss refined and artificial sweeteners and their health implications. We will talk about proper consumption amounts, how they are processed for human consumption, as well as traditional and modern preparation techniques. This class will also offer gluten-free backing flour alternatives.
After understanding the journey from nature to the point of purchase, we take the food to the table by preparing three recipes including:
Gingerbread Friends Chocolate Dipped Coconut Macaroons Winter Fruit Almond Cobbler
All ingredients and materials are included in the class fees. Attendees will receive generous samples and printed recipes to take home. Class size limited to 20 people.
