Healthy Cooking Foundation Class - Healthy Fats & Oils
Master the basics of whole-food, organic cooking while learning new culinary techniques and styles. In this foundation class, you will learn how to source and use various healthy fats and oils for use in preparing healthy meals. You will be given information on what oil to use for specific cooking techniques, what to look for when buying healthy oils, and how to properly store them.
We will address common misconceptions surrounding saturated, mono and polyunsaturated, and trans fats. Learn how fats and oils are processed for human consumption, as well as traditional and modern preparation techniques. After understanding the journey from nature to the point of purchase, we will prepare three healthy recipes that highlight concepts discussed.
