Kulturküche Cooking Classes - Bierocks: The Perfect Summer Snack
Known as runzas in the Midwest(especially in the Omaha, NE area), bierocks are the perfect summer snack: impossibly tasty meat-filled pastries made with yeast dough, ground meat, cabbage, onions and other vegetables. They were introduced to the US by ethnic Germans who settled in Russia along the Volga River prior to World War II and are still enjoyed by Volga German communities throughout the US and Argentina. Join Chef Rita and your fellow culinary enthusiasts to learn the secrets of this traditional German favorite-both meat and vegetarian options will be included.
Class fee includes hands-on instruction, Chef Rita's recipes to take home, a drink from the bar, generous samplings, and of course, great company.
