Open mic with host Steve Goodie and featured performer Catie Curtis
Come on out to Bongo Java for an open mic with host Steve Goodie and featured performer Catie Curtis. Come early and sign up for a slot at the open mic! All songwriters, singers, poets, students and professionals are welcome to perform. This event is part of a series called Voices United Concerts, which benefits Americans United for Separation of Church and State (AU). AU is a critically important non-profit organization that litigates, lobbies, and educates to maintain the wall of separation between church and state. AU is committed to fighting for LGBT rights and reproductive freedoms, as well as standing in opposition to religious prayers in schools and town meetings.
All songs are welcome. If you have written a socially conscious or political song, this would be a great time to break it out!
Steve Goodie is a smart, funny, and completely entertaining comic and songwriter who doesn't shy away from politics. He hosts the "Writers Night" at the Bluebird in Nashville, and tours nationally as a solo artist and part of the duo "actual size."
Boston-based Catie Curtis is singer/songwriter known for spirited songs that embrace our collective honest truths. She has released 13 CDs, tours nationally and has performed several times at the White House.
Tickets are as follows: General: $12 in Advance, $15 at the Door Students: $8 in Advance, $10 at the Door
Doors will open at 6 for the 7 PM show, and it is recommended you come early to sign up for a slot to perform!
