Lorca Hart Trio with Nicolas Bearde
Drummer Lorca Hart grew up in Taos, New Mexico in a musical family. As the son of jazz icon, Billy Hart, he was exposed to a variety of instruments and musical styles as a child but early on it became clear that the drumset was his passion. In high school he started to perform and focus on Jazz. He attended California Institute of the Arts, studying with Albert "Tootie" Heath, Joe La Barbera, Charlie Haden, Wadada Leo Smith, and many others. Since that time Lorca has worked consistently in a variety of musical situations, performing with many of the West Coast's (and beyond) finest artists.
Joining Lorca is internationally known jazz pianist, Josh Nelson. For years Josh was Natalie Cole's pianist. Nelson has been described by jazz critic Chuck Berg as a "brilliant young player whose virtuosity suggest the urbane yet bluesy tradition of Oscar Peterson and Gene Harris", and by journalist and critic Josef Woodard as possessing "his own clean-burning modern mode of jazz".
On vocals, Nicolas Bearde, the buttery baritone will be featured.
