Ludwig van Beethoven Septet in Eb major Op. 20
Popular: Here we juxtapose the works of Beethoven and a chamber work inspired by Elvis. The septet was Beethovens most popular work during his lifetime, to his chagrin, and Elvis is one of the most revered figures in popular music. But the word and idea of being popular has both negative and positive implications. We hope to use this program to open up a dialog about bullying. We are also excited to welcome Missouri composer Stephanie Berg with a world premiere commission.
