Christmas with CANTUS -- "We All will be Together"
Sitting down to a sumptuous feast prepared with love and family - Decorating to a festive air with carols wafting through the house - Children writing heartfelt letters to Santa. All too often, we are reminded that traditions are timeless, while the people we love are not. In the Cantus 2016 Holiday program, the ensemble explores the reasons behind traditions - from learning from generations past how best to celebrate the season, to discovering the wonder anew in those experiencing it for the first time.
Including entertaining, poignant and funny readings, combined with beautiful, lush underscoring, Cantus weaves a concert out of the old and familiar (White Christmas, Carols of the Bells, The Christmas Song), but also leaves room for the new favorites as well (A Quiet Moment - Jennifer Higdon, A Country Boy in Winter - Bartholomew). Through all the moments of the season, "We All Will Be Together" will leave audiences with contentment and a little wonder and certainly humming all the way to Grandmas house!
