Jennifer Keishin Armstrong at the Soup House for "Seinfeldia," Monday, September 12, 7 pm
We're so excited to be co-hosting "Seinfeldia" author Jennifer Keishin Armstrong at one of our favorite food joints in Milwaukee, The Soup House on Michigan and Milwaukee. Tickets to this event are $5 (plus tax and fee) and include a bowl of soup, while supplies last. We'll have copies of Jennifer Keishin Armstrong's books at the event.
A cultural history of "Seinfeld," this is the hilarious, behind-the-scenes story of how two guys' idea for a show - dreamt up over post-midnight coffee in a diner - became a sensation, changed television, and bled over into the real world, altering the lives of everyone it touched.
Jennifer Keishin Armstrong takes the reader inside the writers' room to show how ridiculous plotlines came together, and the real-life inspirations behind them. She had exclusive access to people who have rarely, if ever, spoken in public about the show, including Monica Yates Shapiro, Larry David's ex-girlfriend and the inspiration for Elaine. She is also the first to extensively report on the "Seinfeld" fan community, uncovering unbelievable details about vicious Twitter rivalries, outrageous displays of appreciation, and the ordinary people who still make their living off the show.
Armstrong's previous book is "Mary and Lou and Rhoda and Ted," a cultural history of the Mary Tyler Moore show.
