Hiroya Tsukamoto: Solo Guitar
Hiroya Tsukamoto is a guitarist and singer/songwriter originally from Kyoto, Japan. He began playing banjo when he was thirteen years old, winning a scholarship to Berklee School of Music in 2000. Now residing in New York, Hiroya has been performing internationally since his debut album The Other Side of the World was released with his jazz/world fusion band Interoceanico to great acclaim in 2004. He has released five albums and won prestigious songwriting competions the world over, appearing at Blue Note in NY with Esperanza Spaulding, Kendrick Scott (The Crusaders), and other musical greats. http://www.hiroyatsukamoto.com Appearing on the OCA stage for the second time, this talented young composer with multi-cultural influences is playing acoustic solo guitar and singing both Japanese folk songs and his own unique compositions with English translations.
