Don Mclean: Storyteller
Over the last three years, Stephen Hanks has received glowing reviews for his performances of the songbook of Don McLean, one of America's most underrated pop singer/songwriters most famous for his classic song "American Pie." Now, with his award-winning Musical Director Sean Harkness on guitar and Skip Ward on bass, Hanks brings his tribute to Don McLean's music to Pangea so audiences can hear interpretations of McLean's beautifully melodic compositions that tell stories which are both poetic and cinematic.
Stephen Hanks has been a prominent cabaret reviewer and columnist on the New York entertainment scene who is now a producer, promoter and performer. In 2013, he performed Beyond American Pie: The Don McLean Songbook at the Metropolitan Room before bringing it back in 2015 as Don McLean: Storyteller. The revised show and setlist received great praise from the New York cabaret press.
