Maggie's Guitar a Simon and Garfunkel Tribute Band
Maggies Guitar is a band from southeastern Connecticut that blends layered guitars with complex vocal harmony to play both original songs and covers of classics ranging from folk to rock. It has produced three CDs: Crossing, released in April 2016; Who Do We Think We Are?, in 2011; and Maggies Guitar, in 2008. Ron Gletherow is an English-born singer/songwriter who has set up home in Connecticut since marrying "Maggie" in December of 2000. He had previously played both solo and as band member of several outfits on the London pub/club circuit. An avid Jim Croce admirer, he achieved a lifelong ambition by portraying Jim on the popular British TV show, "Stars In Their Eyes" to a viewing audience of 11 million back in 1998. He has since produced two solo CDs, "Ron Gletherow" and "From England to New England. Margaret Gletherow on Guitar/Mandolin. "Maggie" is co-founder of "Maggie's Guitar". Margaret learned to play guitar as a teenager in the early 70's, listening to Jim Croce records and playing along with them. You'll get to hear some Of these tunes too. Steve Fagan and Mike Bailey add to this soothing and entertaining band with vocal, mandolain, bass and harminica. "Please help us welcome this wonderful new band to the Courthouse Center for the Arts.
