Slavyanka Russian Chorus Presents: Reaching Toward Heaven (San Francisco)

"Reaching Toward Heaven" is an unusual pairing of Russian and American choral repertoire from the heart of each spiritual tradition. For the first time in many years, the Slavyanka Russian Chorus will perform English-language works in addition to works in Eastern European languages.
*Moving Russian liturgical pieces include works by Berezovsky, Tchaikovsky, Chesnokov, Sarti, Ponomariov, and Sheremetev.
*Folk songs from both traditions reference themes of patriotism, bravery, brotherhood, life, and nature.
*American cultural pieces include colonial hymns, spirituals, and an idyllic selection from the musical "West Side Story."
Tickets are $17 here at Brown Paper Tickets, or $20 at the door. Please note an update to our ticket policy: free admission is now extended only to children ages 11 and under (please obtain a free ticket for them when reserving here in advance however; this is important for our venue capacity counts).
Online ticket sales for this concert will be suspended on August 19th at 2:00pm; tickets will continue to be available at the door until concert time.
