Women of Color Empowered Legacy Celebration: The Final Chapter
This gathering is the very last from the Women of Color Empowered luncheons.
Since 1996, Women of Color Empowered has brought together women and men of all backgrounds to celebrate the accomplishments of women of color and to network and learn from each other. The purpose of this luncheon has always been to highlight the accomplishments of women of color who are trailblazers or rising stars in their field.
Over the past 20 years of this luncheon series, more than 550 women have been honored. Our hope is that this luncheon has played at least a small progress in the overall pursuit of women of color achieving their dreams and fulfilling the hopes of their communities.
Still now, however, equity has not been achieved. We hope that the legacy of this luncheon continues on in your lives in all the ways that it can. We hope that we can all work together to continue increasing opportunities for women and girls from marginalized communities. We hope they continue to be nurtured, mentored, and cultivated. We hope that you stay with the fight so that we can break through more barriers, so that the opportunities for our daughters and our daughters' daughters are without limits.
Thank you.
