BACKGROUND: Every five years WIN 'reboots' our agenda for a California Platform for Action that goes to the women's global agenda at the UN. This year LENKA BELKOVA will share the 2017 CAWA report with you for your feedback in mapping a statewide action plan to stop violence against women, change stereotypical portrayals of women in the media, focus on girl's needs, climate and water crisis. An overarching focus is implementing CEDAW ordinances as a comprehensive policy tool for women's advancement globally and locally. Since there has been no US Women's Platform for Action since 2000, we hope to ignite another one for 2017.
SPECIAL ADDED ATTRACTION: WOMEN'S EQUALITY DAY IN WEST HOLLYWOOD FRIDAY AUGUST 26, 2016: Free. More details later.
Please join us and help mobilize for EQUALITY, DEVELOPMENT AND PEACE!
