For the Sake of the Song: Tribute to Bob Dylan
For the Sake of the Song is a Boston-based concert series and traveling Roadshow which features an ever-changing mixture of some of the Northeasts best songwriters and bands, collaborating to perform music from and inspired by their greatest influences. The series, which takes its name from the classic Townes Van Zandt song, delivers the intimacy and energy of great late night jam sessions as well as an illustrative peak into the songwriting process of a wide range of contemporary artists.

The musicians taking part in this tribute to Bob Dylan have done so together in the past to great acclaim:

Patrick Coman is a fixture of Bostons vibrant roots music scene as a performer,  organizer of the New England Americana Festival and the For the Sake of the Song series, and as the host of Local Folk on Bostons Americana radio station WUMB, Coman has made much of his five years in the Northeast, but it doesnt quite yet feel like home. An Okie from just north of Muskogee, Patrick grew up under the spell of his hometowns famed Tulsa Sound. Equal parts red dirt, blues, rock, soul, and country this unique regional sound was the perfect template for a budding songwriter with a voracious and wide-ranging appetite for roots music.

Ryan Fitzsimmons has steadily built a reputation as one of the Northeast's most compelling songwriters. Over the past 10 years Ryan has woven his way throughout New England, creating a strong presence in a number of the local music scenes. While living in Providence RI, the Providence Phoenix awarded him the title of Best Male Vocalist. Ryan was also the founder of the AS220 Sunday Songwriters Series which continues to this day. Upon relocating to the Boston area Ryan has become a fixture in the Americana scene with regular appearances at venerable Cambridge venues such as Club Passim, the Lizard Lounge and Toad. He is now poised to let the rest of the country in on a secret his loyal New England following has know for quite sometime; that Ryan Fitzsimmons shows are a powerhouse event, compelling, and genre defying as his songwriting.

Greg Klyma is a prolific songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and seasoned performer, bringing to every stage a catalog of material that assumes his audiences are both smart and able to laugh. His birth date puts him squarely in the middle of Generation X, but Greg is an old-school troubadour. His enduring themes, articulate and amusing stories, and populist ideals make him one of those rare young artists who is carrying the torch of Woody and Ramblin' Jack. He rolls in off the road, pulls out a guitar, and proceeds to take us back to the basics: family, love, gratitude, and laughter. It's the timeless art of the true troubadour, keeping alive the American folk tradition.

Danielle Miraglia comes armed with a strong steady thumb on an old Gibson, an infectious stomp-box rhythm and harmonica with tunes ranging from heart-felt to socially conscious that will move both your heart and hips. On her latest "Glory Junkies" she's joined by a killer cast of musicians blending the classic rock vibe of The Rolling Stones and Janis Joplin with Danielle's signature lyrical ability to explore human nature at its best and worst.  Danielle was nominated for a 2015 Boston Music Award for Singer-Songwriter of the Year. Danielle has toured and played major venues across the United States and beyond, shining in both the Folk and Blues circuits including New York State Blues Festival, New Bedford Summerfest, The Narrows Center for the Arts (Fall River, MA), The Birchmere (Alexandria, VA), The Ramshead (Annapolis, MD), Sellersville Theater (Sellersville, PA) and the list goes on.
