Cal Scott and Richard Moore welcome Quarterflash/Trail Band founders Marv and Rindy Ross to their bi-monthly circle at OConnors Vault in Multnomah Village, Monday, August 1 at 7:00pm.
Hard rockers and Oregon Music Hall of Famers Marv and Rindy Ross shape-shift into singer-songwriter mode as they join Cal Scott and Richard Moore for their bi-monthly Songwriter Circle at O'Connor's in Multnomah. As Quarterflash http://quarterflash.net/, Marv and Rindy built one of the most successful bands to ever come out of Portland, touring with the likes of Elton John, stacking up platinum records and a major studio film soundtrack ("Nightshift"). Since then they've reinvented themselves with The Trail Band http://www.trailband.com/, and now, distilling the fun and intensity of Quarterflash into a powerful acoustic duo, their vocals complimented by Marv's unique guitar tunings and Rindy's trademark sax.
The Circle regulars with the Rosses will be Cal Scott and Richard Moore, who have fine-tuned their acoustic chops together and individually over the past forty-some years. They initially joined forces as a collegiate vocal trio with tv star-to-be Markie Post, then with a rock band in the seventies, and now are five years running with the Songwriter Circle.
