REFLECTIONS IN BLACK an SF Recovery Theatre Homage
REFLECTIONS IN BLACK present excerpts from Black Theater classics that reflect our local struggles. Director Gloria Weinstock, a guest stage director at San Francisco's Multi Ethnic Theater (MET), is recently retired as head of the San Francisco City College Theatre Department.
Geoffrey Grier heads SF Recovery Theatre and also hosts the Mr. Geoffreys Show, a local on-line show that focuses on the issues, concerns and events of the Tenderloin community. Grier feels that SFRTs productions are one of the few safe places where people of different cultures, races and religious backgrounds can experience the lifestyles of others without feeling threatened. While many people are still battling substance abuse, mental health, or housing problems, it becomes a formidable task for SF Recovery Theater to rise to the challenge to assist those in need to build healthier lives and enrich the city's culture. San Francisco Recovery Theatre is out to make a difference!
