GIA MORA in SWEETHEARTS & SIMPLETONS
Singer and actress Gia Mora will present her latest one-woman musical, "Sweethearts And Singletons" on Sunday, July 8, 2012 at 2 PM as part of the Sundays In Summer Cabaret Series presented by Les Michaels at the Joslyn Center's Arthur Newman Theatre. In its third season, the audiences have been giving these shows rave reviews and coming every week, saying it is one of the best entertainment values in the desert. Gia Mora's singing career began at age three at the Elk's Club with her father, guitarist Rick Chinisci when she sang Oh, Lonesome Me then promptly fell asleep on stage. Now she stays awake for the whole show, singing the Great American Songbook, Broadway, and jazz in her original cabarets at venues throughout the country and in her home base of Los Angeles. Her previous shows include: "Love In The Capital City", "Love In The Mile High City", "Laugh It Up, Funny Girl", and "When I Think Of Home". Her latest, "Sweethearts And Singletons", premiered in LA to a sold out audience and has her exploring the science and mystery of love through songs and stories with a humorous twist and her incomparable acting skills. Her CD, "Something Borrowed, Something Blue" is getting national airplay and selling as they say, like hotcakes. Gia is as comfortable playing Shakespeare as she is comedy and has been seen in countless stage productions and as a guest star on numerous television series, as well as several films and commercials. "Sweethearts And Singletons" starring Gia Mora with musical direction and accompaniment by Charlie Barnett takes place on Sunday, July 8, 2012 at The Arthur Newman Theatre at 2 PM. The box office opens at 1 PM with tickets at $10 cash only for in advance through Brown Paper Tickets web site. For more information call 760-325-2731.
