Lincoln Crockett and Nathaniel Talbot in Concert
Matt Miner Presents, and sponsor Hearing Health welcome Northwest singer-songwriters Lincoln Crockett and Nathaniel Talbot to OConnors Vault, Saturday August 13 at 7:00pm.  Friends and occasional collaborators, Crockett and Talbot have both flown the Portland musical coop to more rural settings, Lincoln to build a home from the ground up in Trout Lake, Washington, and Nathaniel to raise vegetables on Puget Sounds Whidbey Island.  But weve arranged a musical rendezvous for the two artists, an evenings respite from hanging sheetrock and harvesting spinach.

Lincoln Crockett http://www.lincolncrockett.com is one of the finest of the new breed of Portland-based singer-songwriters, and a wizard with a mandolin. Once ubiquitous on the Portland pub scene, Lincoln is currently a scarce sighting having settled into a less frenetic domestic lifestyle in Trout Lake.

It will be hard to avoid comparisons to Nickel Creek's Chris Thile, but that might be more happenstance than anything stylistically plagiaristic. Crockett owns the requisite high-and-lonesome voice -- plaintive, achingly bittersweet and clear as creekwater, without a hint of vibrato -- and he's not afraid to use it. Like Thile, he's fearless and playful, but can clearly stand on his own.--. Don Campbell - The Oregonian

With influences ranging from prodigious guitar pickers such as Doc Watson, Leo Kottke, and Kelly Joe Phelps, to the more soulful folk poetry of Elliott Smith, Gillian Welch, and Paul Simon, Nathaniel Talbots https://nathanieltalbot.com/ music represents a unique synthesis of old-time picking and the indie here-and-now. Nathaniel combines masterful finger-style guitar work with thoughtful, melodic vocal lines to create a sonic experience that is truly fresh and impactful.  Currently, Talbot resides on Whidbey Island where he runs an organic vegetable farm and continues to write and perform regionally.

Nathaniel Talbots powerful, swooning voice and impressive instrumentation on Here in the Fields offers listeners a powerful glimpse into the singers life. Its emotional on a personal level, with a sound that effortlessly drags you into the song while simultaneously feeling like it was recorded in a forest. SEATTLE WEEKLY
