Contemplative Anatomy: An Evening Meditation with Bhante Suddhso and Buddhist Insights
Date: Tuesday, September 6th Time: 7pm Admission: $12 Location: Morbid Anatomy Museum, 424 Third Avenue, 11215 Brooklyn NY
Hair, nails, teeth, and skin - this is all we usually see of each other. In the ancient Buddhist practice of Asubha meditation we go deeper: familiarizing ourselves with every component of the body - inside and out. The purpose of this practice is not to bring up disgust, but rather to develop a clear, dispassionate understanding of the true nature of physical form. Bhante Suddhso will guide us through this meditative practice of body contemplation and explain its relevance to the cultivation of unassailable joy.
The evening will include a period of Insight meditation. All levels of practitioners are welcome.
Buddhist Insights is a non-profit organization connecting people to Buddhist monastics in NYC. www.buddhistinsights.com
