10,000 Laughs Comedy Festival - The Dirty Show (Spring Street Tavern)
George Carlin once said there are no bad words, only bad thoughts and intentions.
Fuck that.
We know a lot of bad words, and we're not afraid to use them under certain, controlled conditions.
The 10,000 Laughs Comedy Festival proudly presents--well, presents, anyway--the Dirty Show, 90 minutes of bad words, evil thoughts and dubious intentions. No subject is too dark, too sensitive or too soon. Whether it's race, religion, politics, disability, sexual orientation or lack thereof, we're not afraid to go there. Basically, we offend everyone but the Jews.
But wait, you may ask. Aren't all of our shows uncensored? Why a special night--let alone two--dedicated to deliberately offensive humor?
What a retarded question.
Look, comedy is all about free speech, but there's also a thing called free enterprise. Which means we sometimes censor ourselves so as not to queer our meal ticket (God, can we say "queer?" Can we say "God?" And what the fuck is a "meal ticket?"). Consequently, we end up saving some of our best jokes for our least-discerning and frankly worst-paying venues.
If you're the type of person who's offended by so-called dirty words, you quit reading this two fucks ago. If you're still with us, then this show is for you. This could be your one chance all year to see truly uncensored comedy in a place you wouldn't be afraid to bring your grandmother.
And by all means, bring your grandmother! Old ladies love this shit!
The Dirty Show. Go there.
