After a years long run of Tuesday nights at Toad the Blue Ribbons take a well deserved break for August. This is your last chance to catch the band locally before they return in September. If for some Godforsaken and tragic reason you have never seen this band perform - you must come - It's like Sun Ra meeting The Band for cocktails while watching Mose Allison perform.
A low-rock Boston sound since the 90s, The Franc Graham Bands third release (Steady, 2011) delivers signature grit and groove: turntables and guitars snake around a voice intimate and commanding. Backed by an all-star band, including Jerome Deupree of Morphine, theyve shared the stage with such greats as Lucinda Williams who dubbed herself a Franc Graham convert. The Boston Globe calls the band immensely underrated.
