Synesthesia in Perfumery with Ron Winnegrad
Join Ron Winnegrad as he explores how the language of scent and perfumery and the interplay between senses, or synesthesia, are central to the creation of perfume. Through the use of images and iconic fragrances, students will discover how visual associations are made between perfumes and paintings, memories, and colors. With Winnegrad as guide, students will become acquainted with 25 raw materials and learn the adjectives to describe them. These raw materials are the most essential ingredients used in developing fragrances. Finally, students will learn how these materials are combined to create complex scents and associations, such as "summer," "street," or "ocean."
