BUTOH + MUSIC and SAT ATE MY PIEZO
We're premiering the movies of filmmaker Bryn Corbett, made in collaboration w RPM Orchestra & Debra Minghi, exclusively at FilmBar:
BUTOH + MUSIC and SAT ATE MY PIEZO
BUTOH + MUSIC - Debra Minghi and RPM Orchestra staged a multidisciplinary arts performance, at Bragg's Pie Factory, as part of Phoenix's Art Detour 24. This Butoh dance and music collaboration was captured using multiple video cameras, including those from audience members, in... BUTOH + MUSIC, a film by Bryn Corbett. The result is an intense, richly colored multi-layered 27-min. film that takes you to the edges of sound, dance, and theater.
SAT ATE MY PIEZO - documents RPM Orchestra's live performance at Modified Arts (from May 19th). The music is gypsy waltz (with tap dancing!) turned industrial-jazz, visually underscored by a gritty & surreal vaudeville act awash in dark dieselpunk aesthetics. (16 mins)
+ THE UNKNOWN (Abridged) - Some 30 minutes of Tod Browning's 1927 silent classic, rescreened with RPM Orchestra's original film score (as recorded during the live Oct '11 presentation) now included.
That's 75 minutes worth - for only $8 admission - a big chunk of which is original never-before-seen collaborative multi-disciplinary work created by LOCAL talent! Support your local scene, we hope to see you there!
