The Hot Club of Portland with Daisy Castro

At a young age, violinist Daisy Castro is establishing herself as among the foremost members of a new generation of Gypsy jazz artists. A veteran of premier jazz stages such as the Festival de Jazz Django Reinhardt in Samois, France and Djangofest Northwest in the US,
Daisy has performed with an array of top artists in the genre, such as Gonzalo Bergara, Stephane Wrembel, Dorado Schmidt, Marc OConnor, and Adrian Moignard. A passionate and intense performer, she brings a modern edge to the jazz Manouche tradition, stunning audiences in Europe and the US.

The award winning group, The Hot Club of Portland, lead by guitarist Bryan Killough and featuring guitarist Mike Arciero and bassist John Hunter has been performing Gypsy jazz and swing music throughout New England for ten years. They are thrilled to be presenting Miss Castro at The Dance Hall on Friday August 26th at 8PM.
