Cardinal Innovations Healthcare will host a Recovery Awareness Workshop on September 2 titled Disable the Label: Words Matter.
This workshop is an opportunity for providers, stakeholders, people in recovery and recovery allies to discuss the importance of how the words we use impact the recovery process. In order to promote the growth of recovery communities, we need to change the conversation and highlight the need for more asset based messaging, versus deficit based messaging. A panel discussion will explore why words matter and why we need to disable the label in our recovery efforts.
Join Cardinal Innovations Healthcare on September 2 to begin the conversation about challenges experienced by those in recovery, explore ways to better implement treatment and how to build systems of care that support recovery.
Keynote speakers and panelists include experts in the field of recovery, building recovery-oriented systems of care, holistic health and wellness, and those with lived experience.
Disable the Label: Words Matter September 2, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Cardinal Innovations Daniel R. Coughlin Conference Center 4855 Milestone Ave. Kannapolis, N.C. There is no cost to attend, but registration is required. Boxed lunches provided. Note: This workshop is approved for three (3) hours of NBCC continuing education credit.
