Gentlemen and Ladies Afternoon Tea Social with live classical and romantic music served in the vintage style of Downton Abbey.
Once a month, through September we invite you to experience an exquisite Gentlemen and Ladies Afternoon Social Tea service with live classical and romantic jazz music. We offer two very different menus served in the vintage style of Downton Abbey.
From flights of English teas to aged whiskeys, savory cucumber tea sandwiches to sliders of elk, our Gentlemen and Ladies tea menu offers two wonderful experiences.
ENTERTAINMENT
To complete the afternoon, live classical and romantic jazz music is scheduled. Bob Strain, piano virtuoso plays with extraordinary grace and several numbers will include romantic jazz performed by David Boyd our resident tenor.
SEATING TIMES AND DURATION
We will contact you during the week prior to your arrival to confirm your seating time and answer any questions you may have. Afternoon tea is a leisurely experience about the art of socializing. Our tea service is a two hour experience.

First seating with arrival between 12PM - 12:30PM
Second seating with arrival between 1PM - 1:30PM

LOCATION AND SETTING
Lex 18's historic late1920's dining room was formerly part of the 1904 - 1922 Eureka Saloon owned and operated by John O'Donnell. Restored in 2014 its design reflects the splendor and elegance of the post-Edwardian era complete with all the finery from this popular historic period. Centered under its gold ceiling, each table is dressed in lace. English Royal Dalton, French Limoges, Japanese Noritake china are set with arranged flowers, fine silver cutlery and vintage cut crystal water glasses. Elegantly dressed in morning coat and tie, Alan Van de Kamp, our tea connoisseur and butler, is at your service to prepare the perfect tea for your table.

The Afternoon Tea menus are made each morning to ensure freshness and the delight of items coming from the oven. Adjustments and variations are based on seasonal produce to ensure locally sourced and freshness.

TABLE ASSIGNMENTS
Tables are assigned based on the size of party. Parties of two do share tables with parties of the same size allowing for ample space between.
DRESS
We do ask our guests to dress appropriate for most fine restaurants... shoes, shirts, etc. We strongly encourage our guests to take advantage of the beautiful settings and have fun with taking pictures. Whether dressed casual or in period costume or garden dress, relax wear or sharply dressed we encourage you to make this your special occasion.
ABOUT TEA SERVICES
Afternoon tea (because it was usually taken in the late afternoon) is also called "low tea" when served in a sitting room or withdrawing room where low tables were placed near sofas or chairs.
