Bath Roller Derby Girls: Fresh Meat Course 2016
So, you want to play roller derby? Or maybe referee? You're in luck! Registration for BRDG's annual intake is now open. This Fresh Meat course, which will start in early September, is your passport to a comprehensive grounding in skating and this amazing sport!
Sessions are scheduled to be held at Beechen Cliff School, in Bath, on Sundays from 11am to 1pm.
The course is for all skaters 18 years and over who identify themselves as female and wish to play Derby or referee. Male skaters are welcome to train to become referees. We are strictly limited to 30 spaces, to ensure that everyone gets the attention and support that they need as they learn to play roller derby with Bath! We're a friendly league, and you can expect plenty of encouragement, help and sweaty hugs from our existing members :D
Over the next five months you'll learn everything from how to simply keep your balance through to more advanced tactical play on track. The course is designed for anyone, from total beginners to seasoned skaters - we'll go at your individual pace and ensure that you all progress together.
No kit; no problem. We understand that you probably don't want to shell out on a load of pricey gear before you've had a chance to decide if roller derby is definitely for you (spoiler: it's definitely for you.) We have some spare kit that we'll be happy to loan out for a few sessions, so after signing up here, you'll be contacted via email to ask about what you might need :)
Signing up here secures your place on BRDG's Fresh Meat Course 2016 and counts as pre-payment for your first 4 sessions with us! After your first four, sessions will cost £5 each (payable in advance, we'll give you more info in your welcome pack.)
