Sugar-filled, badass Rock n' roll from 5 lovely ladies...PAPER WAVES! The group has roots from over a decade ago when Lorie (guitar) and Gab (drums) were in high school together in Vermont playing in an all-girl rock band. Years later, they found themselves in Boston and decided to bring music back into their lives (which had been swallowed by their professional day jobs, in marketing and finance). As trained musicians since youth, the women of Paper Waves have all been playing music either professionally or for fun for most of their lives, but it wasn't until Paper Waves that they discovered their passion and excitement for writing and collaboration. The group inspires them to push our preconceived limits and hone their musicianship through songwriting, practicing and performing.
The dynamic, fun and energizing chemistry has resulted in the creation of an abundance of many new tunes, varying in style, from sexy and humorous ("Tiger Song"), to heartfelt ("The Night"), good ol' bluesy ("Play It Cool"), to sweet folk ("The Space"), upbeat rock ("White Flag," "Fire Inside"), and melancholic pop ("Seas Apart").
OLD WAVE
Old Wave plays earnest songs with dynamic arrangements and colorful harmonies that weave together stories of the past, present and future.
The band recently self released their debut EP: "Just Like Catching Light in a Jar".
