Why Not Us?

Emily and Liam are finishing their final year at university. As close friends with a clear idea of what they want from their relationships and careers, both try to work out where they fit in the world, often through comic conversations fuelled by debate.

However, as they move to the high pressured professional world to make their careers in journalism and advertising, both are faced with difficult challenges that cause them to question their careers and fracture their relationship. It is a journey to work through their insecurities, but also to accept and understand each other.

Why Not Us? is a multidisciplinary piece of the theatre that examines gender inequality from the perspective of both men and women. Set in London, the play examines relationships, work politics, the film industry, the media and the music industry. It is visually dynamic, clever, comic, and thought provoking.
