The King of Navarre hasdetermined that his kingdom will become known as a court of knowledge, awonder of the world.He and his three companions swear off food, sleep, and women for three years so that they may become scholars. Immediately after taking this oath, the Princess of France arrives with her three companions. The men dont admit even to each otherthat they have instantly fallen in love, but the women know, and they also know about the oaths. The women delight in teasing the men, who eventually discover each others secret passion. The men unite and are determined to outsmart the women. Then the games begin!
