Wednesday, November 16, 7:30 PM Zadie Smith presents Swing Time In conversation with Ashley C. Ford Tickets $30.00 (includes event admission and a book)
The dazzlingly talented Zadie Smith (White Teeth, On Beauty, NW) returns to Brooklyn to present her ardently awaited new novel Swing Time, an ambitious, exuberant story about friendship and music and stubborn roots that moves from Northwest London to West Africa. Two brown girls dream of being dancers but only one has talent. The other has ideas: about rhythm and time, about black bodies and black music, what constitutes a tribe, or makes a person truly free. Smith presents her novel in conversation with Brooklyn-based writer and commentator Ashley C. Ford at this evening's event, followed by a book signing.
Each $30 ticket includes admission to the event, as well as a hardcover copy of Swing Time; books are distributed at the event.
This event is sold out, but there is a waiting list. To add your name to the list, email events@greenlightbookstore.com with the subject line "Zadie Smith event", and indicate the first and last name of all people in your party. You will be contacted with waitlist instructions before the event.
