A Musical Celebration of Woodstock Elders
Songwriters/Performers Elizabeth Clark, Sarah Kramer-Harrison, Kelleigh McKenzie, Bonnie Meadow, Sarah Perrotta, Jude Roberts and Robert Burke Warren will perform original songs about the lives of Woodstock Elders Jerome Taub, Pete Denehey, Virginia Snyder, Nita Chandler, Lois Linet, Jocelyn Sarto , Stewart Maurer and Anni Tucker. Ralph Legnini is Concert Director and Rob Stein, Eric Parker, Rusty Boris and Cornelia Logan as accompanying musicians. The songwriters will be joined by members of the Ars Choralis Choir and the Onteora HS Choir
According to Colette Ruoff, founder of SageArts, We are thrilled to have the opportunity to work with these elders in Woodstock and to bring their life's wisdom to the community in such an artistic and nourishing way. Lewis Mehl-Madrona, an MD specializing in Geriatrics and an advisor to SageArts says, "If we re-integrate elders into our community, we have the opportunity to learn from them and to honor their wisdom. We all gain something from that because we are all connected."
On July 17th, the event will open with a reception at 4:00 and the concert will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 pm, at the Woodstock Music Lab,1700 Sawkill Road in Woodstock. It is open to the public. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. For seniors, tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door and for children under 18 tickets are $5. Tickets will be made available in advance at brown paper tickets starting June 20.
