Shirley Claire in "I'm Gonna Live Till I Die" in Palm Desert
At only 87 years of age, Shirley Claire, who prefers to be called a Seasoned Citizen, has led a glamorous life in show-business from singing at the age of 10 and just 2 years later, her own radio show on CBS. Shirley was under contract with MGM for years before becoming a featured showgirl with Earl Carrolls musical comedy revues in Hollywood. She was a regular on The Jimmy Durante Show, and also did her own TV show that aired every Saturday night at 7 PM on KGO-TV in San Francisco. Ms. Claire made numerous tours entertaining the troupes for the USO as the singer with The Jack Ross Show and more theater and TV followed including a series on TV LAND. She has many fans from her years as a Fabulous Palm Springs Follies Long Legged Lovely, and in 2015 Shirley was a hit on NBCs Americas Got Talent. For Im Gonna Live Till I Die Shirley enlisted the expertise of another Desert star, Derrik Lewis as her director, and Wayne Abravanel as her musical director. These days, Shirley is also holding court as the Singing Bingo Caller on Monday nights at Ace Hotel in Palm Springs.
