Psychological aspects of Parenting in the Tech Era
The internet and technological development in the past 2 decades created a new reality where different parenting tools are needed in order to fulfill our childrens needs and promote healthy development. What are the psychological effects of the digital era? During the lecture we will examine our new role as parents, explore the psychological challenges that parents are facing and discuss how to set boundaries to our children and to ourselves in the new and hectic family structure. As a clinical psychologist and as a parent, Adi has been researching and exploring the psychological impact of the digital era and studying ways to find balance in the fast-pace and fluctuating environment we all live in today. While working at schools in the area she was exposed to the powerful impact that technology has on children and adolescents relationships with their peers and parents and how it effects the social space, physical interaction and interpersonal relationship. Dr. Adi Zief-Balteriski is a Licensed Clinical Psychology and received her Ph.D from Palo Alto University, California. She owns a private practice in San Jose area that focuses on treating adults and adolescents with a variety of issues such as: depression, anxiety, trauma , existential crisis and women mental health.
