Flash fiction is a phenomenon that is prevalent in the world of fiction writing. Imagine writing a short fiction piece with only 501 words. In this class you will learn how to write a complete story with beginning, middle, and end, while developing a character in the story with minimal words. This class requires a notebook and pen/pencil or Laptop/Macbook.
About the Instructor: Mona Bethke is a poet and Professor at the University of Tampa. She teaches scriptwriting, screenwriting, writing for comedic television, and mass media and society. She also teaches playwriting, flash fiction, and poetry at various venues. Mona completed her MFA in Poetry at the University of Tampa. She has worked with inner city youth using poetry as a means of expression for social conflict, and she hosts First Stop Poetry Fusion Open Mic in St. Petersburg, FL..
