InterPLAY 2016 Final Show
InterPLAY A Storytelling Performing Arts Workshop Our annual celebration of theatre and young people. The philosophy of InterPlay is that children are natural artists, completely free and honest. Created by InterACT member Sharon Madden, InterPLAY's purpose is to give the children permission to create in a safe, process-oriented, judgment-free environment, where their ideas, concerns, and dreams are welcomed and celebrated. Our goal is to empower the children by the use of their own imaginations. The program was designed to offer the culturally diverse and artistically under-served youth (specifically ages 6 and up) of North Hollywood an opportunity to explore live theatre through the process of games, storytelling, and improvisation. Developed with collaboration in mind, this program brings together neighborhood children, their parents, and theatre professionals in a summer day camp atmosphere, where the children are able to discover and explore their natural creativity under the tutelage of skilled theatre artisans.
In 2016, InterPlay celebrates its twenty-third anniversary with InterPlay '16 IMAGINATION HAS NO LIMITS in July at the NoHo Arts Center.
