The #BeHeard16 Youth Poetry Slam series was bigger than ever this year, featuring a sold-out Finals event at the Walker, plus seven other big, dynamic youth poetry slams all over the Twin Cities.
The six poets who made the 2016 Be Heard team have been writing, collaborating, and rehearsing all spring, and the Send Off is the last chance to see them perform before they head to Washington DC to represent Minnesota at Brave New Voices. BNV is an annual, international youth poetry slam and festival, and this year's festival director is none other than the Twin Cities' own Tish Jones, founder and executive director of TruArtSpeaks.
