Practical Medicine Making: teas & tinctures
Following the medicinal gardening class Gradey is back to talk about what we can now do with all these fabulous plants! In this hands-on gathering we will cover a few ways of making plants into medicine. Like how to properly dry and store herbs, some tips for a great cup of tea and introducing the basics of creating tinctures. Some real practical basics to help get us started creating our own apothecary.
Gradey Proctor is a botanist and gardener who has spent over 16 years studying the flora and fungi of Oregon's forests. Gradey studied herbalism at Columbines School of Botanical studies. His newest endeavor, the Medicine Garden, is an independent herbal nursery and plant medicine CSA. Gradey has taught botany at the Arctos School of Herbal and Botanical Studies for a decade now. Developing a relationship with place drives his passion for gardening and wildcrafting medicinal and edible plants -- and he loves supporting his community by teaching others to do the same.
