Snap on 2&4 w/ The Jeff Hamilton Trio
On Saturday, June 25 at 8pm the Nashville Jazz Workshop presents a very special Snap on 2&4 performance: the return to the NJW Jazz Cave of the world-renowned Jeff Hamilton Trio.
Originality is what versatile drummer Jeff Hamilton brings to the groups he performs with and is one of the reasons why he is constantly in demand, whether he is recording or performing with his trio, Oscar Peterson, Ray Brown, and countless others. The Jeff Hamilton Trios recording, Its Hamilton Time, received enormous airplay while reaching #5 on the Gavin national jazz radio chart. The trios second release, Jeff Hamilton Trio-LIVE! was nominated by critics for best jazz recording in Germany in 1997. The trios second MONS release was entitled, Hands On. Hamilton House-Live at Steamers was the trios 2000 release.
Since then, the Trio has released numerous highly-regarded albums: The Best Things Happen (2004), From Studio 4, Cologne, Germany (2006), Symbiosis (2009), Red Sparkle (2012), and Great American Songs: Through The Years (2013).
Taken individually, the awards and accolades of Hamilton, pianist Tamir Hendleman, and bassist Christoph Luty are too many to mention here. They are contemporaries and collaborators with the greats, from Oscar Peterson and Dave Brubeck to Diana Krall, Barbara Streisand, Shirley Horn, and countless other masters of the music. Taken together, they are simply one of the greatest jazz trios of all time.
Please visit hamiltonjazz.com for much more information on Jeff and the Trio. The performance starts at 8pm. Doors open at 7:15.
