The Savannah Derby Devils are hosting a two-day action packed roller derby tournament The Savannah Summer Slam. The event takes place June 18-19 at the Derby Devils home bouting venue, the Savannah Civic Center. Teams traveling from across the Southeast will be competing in the two-day event.
The purpose of the two-day roller derby extravaganza is to allow the Savannah Derby Devils All-Stars and their B-Team, the Hostess City Hellions the opportunity to compete in sanctioned and regulation derby bouts for the benefit of competitive ranking in the Womens Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) and to further the fastest growing womens sport in the world.
The WFTDA is the governing body of competitive roller derby around the world. The Savannah Derby Devils are celebrating their 10th anniversary season this year, currently ranked among the 370 teams in the WFTDA International ranking composite.
