"Tumble Down Dreams" with Terry Currier and pianist Eli Staple
Creative Cauldron presents the third installment in its sizzling hot FourthWall summer cabaret series: "Tumble Down Dreams" starring veteran stage performer Terry Currier accompanied by the versatile and talented Eli Staple.
In the 52 years since his graduation from Harvard, Mr. Currier has spent most of his working hours in rehearsal halls and on stage. His first ten years were spent as a resident actor at Washington's prestigious Arena Stage, performing in over eighty productions. He is is proud to have been a member of the Tony Award winning Arena Company in 1976. He has also been seen at the Kennedy Center in the pre-Broadway production of "Annie 2" and the recent Tony nominated production of "Follies" and on Broadway in the smash hit revival of "Damn Yankees" with Jerry Lewis. In between theater work he's managed to snag several noteworthy gigs in film and television. He has also appeared with fellow actor Charles Keating, in a folk singing act: "Keating and Currier" at the Bitter End,Gerde's Folk City and The John Barleycorn Irish Pub in New York in the 1960's.
Music Director and accompanist, Eli Staples has performed in a vast array of genres including jazz, rock, R&B, Cuban, Brazilian, Funk, Classical and Tango. Career highlights include opening for Prince on his historic appearance at London's 02 Arena; performing on the Today show in Rockefeller Plaza with Ashanti, and appearing as a featured artist with his jazz trio and the National Philharmonic at Strathmore Hall in Washington, D.C. His first EP is scheduled for release sometime this year.
"Tumbledown Dreams" is an anecdotal and musical meander through 75 years of dance, drama and drollery.
