Bioblitz 2016: Judd Creek Watershed Vashon
Vashon Nature Center is partnering with Vashon Maury Island Land Trust to hold our 5th annual Bioblitz on Vashon Island. We will survey parks and preserves in Judd Creek watershed, our island's largest watershed with a salmon and trout bearing stream, mature forests, a thriving estuary and open sunny meadows.
This Bioblitz starts at 1 pm on June 24th and runs until 1 pm June 25th.
Basecamp is at beautiful Matsuda Farm house accessed by driving west on the driveway that runs along the north edge of the old K2 property. 19201 Vashon Highway SW.
What do you do at a Bioblitz?
Join a survey team! Click get ticket, read about the different surveys and sign up! This is your chance to observe nature and learn from an expert team lead all about plants, butterflies, dragonflies, tracking, small mammals, amphibians, birds, night insects, marine creatures, and more!
Visit us at base camp! Browse the interpretive displays, complete the junior naturalists challenges, take a turn at our drawing table and talk to our base camp staff about bioblitz news from the field and more opportunities to get involved.
DONATE! Go to get tickets and choose the donate option. We depend on donations to fund the considerable work it takes to coordinate this event and process all the data we generate so that we can share it in useful ways with the community. Any amount helps us.
