Feast on the Farm - A farmer, a baker, a brewer, and a chef
Feast on the Farm at Hazzard Free Farms takes guests on a tour of the sprawling farms old barns along a beautiful creek before settling in for a three-course meal curated by Found's Nicole Pederson and Hewn's Ellen King, paired with craft brews specially forged just for the event by Claudia Jendron (Temperance Beer Company).
With pickup at Hewn Bakery (810 Dempster St, Evanston) at 2:30 p.m. CST, guests will bus to Hazzard Free Farms, located just under 2 hours outside of Chicago. After a craft cocktail hour greeting featuring some specialty Temperance Beer Company beer cocktails, guests will embark on a private guided tour of Hazzard Free Farms led by founder, Andy Hazzard, whose family has been farming in Northern Illinois since 1847. Guests will stroll along a charming, babbling creek amid the preserved farmland, discovering the grains used to create Hewns hand-forged breads & pastries, bounties vegetables and fields of wildflowers all while experiencing the picturesque scenery of the farm in full bloom during peak harvest season.
The feast begins at 6:30 p.m. with a family-style sit down dinner under the open sky that harkens back to historic seasonal farm feasts celebrating the impending harvest. The menu will feature a variety of local, seasonal fare prepared by Nicole Pederson of Found and Hewn's Ellen King, served alongside a small batch of Temperance Beer Company beer brewed specially for this event, utilizing local heritage grain varieties.
After dinner, around 8:45pm, guests will return by bus to Hewn Bakery.
Ticket includes transportation to and from Hazzard Free Farms, a private guided tour of the farm, cocktail hour and seated dinner featuring meat and vegetarian options. Must be 21 and over.
