June 2016 Vancouver Program: Rethinking the Performance Management Process
Performance management is a process that most managers love to hate. Most organizations feel there needs to be a better approach, but few have been bold enough to scrap the traditional performance appraisal altogether. Some, however, have done exactly that, replacing the formed based, rate-and-rank process with a more collaborative, developmentally focused approach. Tapping into interviews and a survey of over 1,200 perspectives on performance management approaches, this briefing will provide you with lessons learned from the front line by those organizations that are pushing the envelope and trying out new approaches.
